Thought for the Week

"To make consistent progress you need to train on a consistent basis.  Consistency in training is undoubtedly more important than any other factor when it comes to making progress".

Japanese Karate-Do, Shotokan of Cincinnati:
Martial Arts and Physical Fitness for a Balanced Life

Inclement Weather

When the snowflakes fly and the schools are closed or delayed, you may wonder whether or not Japanese Karate-Do dojo is open for classes.

Simply call our number, (513) 697-8988, and the recorded message will give you the information you need.

There are many occasions when we will be open even though the schools have closed, since many of our classes start later in the afternoon and evening when crews have had more time to clear the roads.

Japanese Karate-Do, a member of The World Traditional Karate Organization, is dedicated to the study of Traditional JKA Shotokan Karate. In a day where mixed martial arts, Sensei Sonny Kimphysical fitness and core development has taken center stage in the area of physical wellness; the physical, mental and emotional discipline and training of Traditional Shotokan Karate provides a well balanced lifestyle that extends outside of the dojo (school).

We take pride in providing a family friendly atmosphere, offering classes for adults, teens and children. We welcome anyone who wants to learn Karate, from beginners to those who simply wish to improve and develop their current skills to a much higher level.

The chief instructor, Sensei Sonny Kim, holds the rank of 6th Dan and has trained in Shotokan Karate since 1977.  He enthusiasticly passes on the art of Traditional Shotokan Karate-do to anyone who is willing to dedicate themselves to train and study.

Our dojo is on Montgomery Rd. in Cincinnati, Ohio, it features a matted 2,000 square foot training area, specifically designed to minimize shock and absorb high impact on bones and joints. We also have a second training area with a traditional makiwara and heavy bag. There’s a large viewing area available for guests and family members who want to observe classes.

If you want to understand the heart of martial arts, become physically fit and/or gain an overall sense of physical, mental and emotional well being, you owe it to yourself to look into Japanese Karate-Do.

Come and observe any of our scheduled classes or call to schedule an appointment to receive an Introductory Lessons
