Welcome
Welcome to the Karate-Ka For Christ website!
First let me give you a little background.
For the past four years, the Lord has put on my heart to one day start a ministry called “Karate-ka for Christ (KFC).” Karate-ka means “karate student.” I feel God has called me to use Karate to glorify Him. The style that I study and teach is a traditional Japanese style called Shotokan Karate.
Upon obtaining my blackbelt in January 2010, I felt I was roughly three years from being ready to start KFC. However, on a recent trip to a karate seminar with my Sensei (instructor), Sonny Kim, he told me he felt I was ready to start my own club. Sensei and I are very close, as I’ve trained with him for over five years, and we frequently spend countless hours driving to tournaments or seminars together. Moreover, I’ve been helping him teach two children’s classes twice per week for the past four and one-half years and assisting with beginners/novice adult classes at the Japanese Karate-Do dojo. I trust his judgment when he says he feels my karate is good enough to begin teaching.
