Welcome to Japanese Karate-Do.com

Thank you for visiting the
Japanese Karate-Do,
Shotokan of Cincinnati website!

Japanese Karate-Do Traditional Shotokan Karate Association was established in 1996. We are a karate school (dojo), dedicated to the study of Traditional Japanese Karate Association (JKA) Shotokan Karate. The chief instructor, Sensei Sonny Kim, has trained in Shotokan Karate since 1977. Sensei Kim is enthusiastic about passing on the art of Traditional Shotokan Karate-do to anyone who is willing to dedicate themselves to train and study.

The Japanese Karate-Do takes pride in providing a family friendly atmosphere, offering classes for adults, teens and children. “Everyone helps and supports each other and new students are always made to feel welcome.”

We welcome anyone who wants to learn Karate, from beginners to those who wish to improve and develop their current skills to a much higher level. If you want become physically fit and gain an overall sense of physical, mental and emotional well being, you owe it to yourself to look into Japanese Karate-Do.

Our dojo on Montgomery Rd. in Cincinnati, Ohio, features a matted 2,000 square foot training area, specifically designed to minimize shock and absorb high impact on bones and joints. We also have a second training area with a traditional makiwara, a heavy bag and mirrors. There’s a large viewing area available for guests and family members who want to observe classes.

Come and observe any of our scheduled classes or call to schedule an appointment to receive an Introductory Lessons.

Wanted

More to improve...
Less to disapprove.

More doers...
Fewer talkers.

More to say,
"it can be done"....
Fewer to say,
"its impossible."

More to inspire others...
Fewer to throw cold water
on them.

More to get into the thick
of things...
Fewer to sit on the sidelines.

More to point out
what's right....
Fewer to show what's wrong.

More to light a candle...
Fewer to curse the darkness.
